As human beings, we’re prone to worrying about the future, thinking about “tomorrow”, and wondering how things will all turn out. Sometimes it’s difficult for us to not view God in that same way.
Sure, we know God is omnipotent (all powerful) and so probably doesn’t worry the way we do, but at times it’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact that God doesn’t even think about the future the way we do. He is not bound by time.
A friend was recently out and about at garage sales, and found this beautiful sign for me, that I think sums things up perfectly.
Don’t worry about tomorrow; God is already there.
We experience time in a linear fashion. One event follows the other. God, however, is eternal. He exists outside of time. He not only is with us today, but He’s also there in tomorrow. He’s even experienced the Millenial Kingdom!
This is how Paul could write about us being seated with Christ in heavenly places. Not that we will be seated with Christ in heavenly places, but that we already are.
God knows our future, because He’s already there.
