Day 21: Rotating Menus for Easier Menu Planning

31 Days to More Organized Menu PlanningA few days ago, I talked about how I plan my menus 4 weeks in advance.

Let me share with you a very simple way to do the following months’ worth of menus.

On your menu plan, where it says “January”, erase it.

Now write “February”.

Voila!

Most of the time, this is how I take care of menu planning, because it’s

  • Quick
  • Simple
  • and I’ve got other things to do.

We call this the “rotating menu plan”…the only things I change are the name of the month and the dates.

Sometimes, based on special activities, holidays, birthdays, and so forth, I will also change meals on those special days to match the occasion. For example, if we have a field trip, obviously we’ll be having sandwiches. If it’s a birthday, it’s the birthday girl or boy’s choice of meals.

Once we switch over to summer, I do the same thing. My summer menu rarely changes during those several months of hot weather, unless a special occasion warrants it.

Easy peasey!

Happy Planning,

Why Swagbucks? Well, using points I earned on Swagbucks last year, I earned a bunch of FREE gift cards to places like Amazon.com and Restaurants.com, which in turn paid for most Christmas gifts, Birthday gifts, date nights, and nearly paid for an Amazon Kindle Fire. Signing up with Swagbucks using this referral link allows me to earn more points while you also earn points. For easier searching, I recommend grabbing the Swagbucks Toolbar for your web browser.
