I’m sorry, the sale has officially ended, but…
I’m leaving this up, with our story, and the comments below, because they were such a blessing to me.
Thank you everyone!
We raised over $5,000 towards our housing fund while we wait for the next step. Thank you!
This special offer bundle of digital resources is available for just $19.95, from October 10th-14th. Not only will you get a great deal on all of these digital resources, but you’ll also be helping to meet a very serious need in our family. The sale ends at 11:59pm, EST October 14th, 2011.
Why are we doing this?
This is very, VERY hard to write… but I need to share with you WHY we have put together this very special offer.
After a long, painful series of pay cuts, lay offs, unexpected expenses and missed payments, we are about to lose our home. In the last 12 months alone, our income went down by $4 per hour, and we’re making far less than what we were earning when we bought this home.
We’ve fought against the loss of our home for a few years now. At this point, all our options of keeping our home are all exhausted. There is nothing more we can do about it. It is only a matter of time before the foreclosure is final and we have to be out.
But the most difficult part of all this is: we have no place to go.
We’re actually not picky about what size or style house to live in, as long as it is affordable, safe, warm, and dry, and preferably close to work. Right now, my dear husband’s new job involves a 150 mile commute each day! The problem is, we’ve not found anything under that description that is willing to rent to a family our size (we have 5 teenagers), and we have no family members able or willing to help or house us. Most of the rentals we’ve called on either tell me the house isn’t big enough for a family our size, or the price is far more than the cost of the house we’re losing.

My awesome crew, Isobel (12), Ruth (18), Judah (16), Esther (13), Anastasia (14)...and Casey Dog too.
Because of the large number of foreclosures in our area, we are instead hoping to make an offer on a cheap foreclosure… or a mobile home… or whatever we can afford with the funds we can pull together from this fire sale and what we are able to save while waiting for foreclosure. More than anything, please pray for our family to have wisdom and direction in this matter, as we know that it is God alone who can work out all of the details.
So, fellow self-publishing friends of ours have kindly donated some of their digital products to this blessing sale to help raise as much money as we can to that end. I’ve also included several of my more popular ebooks as well. Additionally, by purchasing this bundle, you’ll also be entered into a drawing to win one of three door prizes (more on that later). This bundle is a great opportunity for you, while also meeting a need in our family!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This sale ended on October 14th, 2011 at 11:59 pm. Thank you for all of your help!
Winners to the drawing will be announced on Saturday, October 22nd, to give those paying by check a chance to enter.
Ack! I finally have a moment to sit down and purchase this (forgetting that I am PST and you are not)… only to find it has ended. I pray you will find adequate housing for your family, please keep us updated as your comfort level allows.
I first want to say good luck. My family of 9 is in the very same boat as you right now. I’m selling jars to make ends meet and here you are doing the same but with education. I won’t say much only cause I’m sitting here crying as I read this, but I wish you and your family all the luck, love and support in the world! From one mother to another….
Thank you so much, Lisa. I’ll be adding you and your family to my prayer list. There are so many in this boat, sadly.
Darn, I would love to help out (and get some of these great resources!) but I won’t have any money for at least another week
Wish it was running longer
brightest blessing for you and yours
Thanks, Shannon
Hi Kimberly, actually, we aren’t losing the house, just fighting to get caught up with payments which feels like drowning. Can you keep us posted on how well the sale went? I am making my purchase tonight.
Blessings to abundance and overflowing
Laura
Thank you, Laura! The sale has gone very well. I’ve doubled what we had already saved for housing.
I’m sorry for the struggle your family is going through! I will be keeping you in my prayers. We serve a mighty God!
Serena
Thank you, Serena!
I have somehow managed to get a few of your resources over the years. As I have always enjoyed them and found them useful it was not a hard decision to purchase your bundle. I hope that you do become truly blessed with the proceeds of your sale, maybe not just financially, but spiritually also, knowing that you do not walk alone in this world.
Best wishes
Jen in Oz
Thank you so much, Jen! I appreciate it! I know I have been very encouraged by all of the notes and comments this week, as well as all of the help from others.
Hi,
I read that you are in the Flint area. We live in Louisiana, but my husband’s boss/best friend is from Flint. They remodel Wal-Marts together about six months out of the year, and then my husband is unemployed the rest of the year. I wanted to share with you his boss’ name so you could look him up, because he owns many many houses in the Flint area all the way to the Detroit area, and he rents them. He is a good Christian man, and he might have something available and affordable. I can’t promise anything, but his name is Curt Stone, if you want to look him up. I hope that helps. (email me if you want his cell number, I obviously can’t post it online as a comment)
Thank you Desiree! I appreciate it. I’ve sent you an email.
Kimberly,
I’ve been praying for your family often today. I also posted this wonderful sale on my FB wall. God will take care of you! xoxo
Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I enjoy your website, Jamerrill!
After reading the comments, I’m wondering if it is the Detroit area that your husband is working. Would you please send me a private message and tell me if this is correct, and if so, how much TIME is that commute taking him? I would like to help if I can. I am in Ohio and I have friends and family in Michigan. If I’m off-base and you are looking somewhere completely different, forgive me.
Waiting for your reply,
In Him,
Jane
We are praying for you and your family! My husband was laid off in KS, we moved 3 months later for a job in ID and he was laid off there after 7 months. He was laid off over a year before he got his old job back in KS, and we lived in CO for some of the time in between. We were blessed to have family in CO with a place for us to stay. So we haven’t been exactly where you are, but very easily could have been. Oh and had two miscarriages in all that time, too – that was an emotionally hard two years! I am excited to look through all of these resources – thank you! And I shared on Facebook so my many homeschooling friends can some see, too. =) God is in control and he is GOOD!
I love being a Christian! So many people banding together to help another in need. I am talking to my husband about ordering so we can help you also. I am also going to post your sale to our blog later today when I have more time.
Praying for your needs. God will provide in his time, just wait and see, He will! It may not be easy but in the end, it will be amazing.
Praying!
I am always amazed with God’s work. This is a generous resource for all! I know that our Father will provide your beautiful family with everything you need. I am praying for you all. My family has also been through so many difficult times. Here is a cyber **HUG** to you.
God bless you all, dear Kimberly.
Brenda
Thank you so much, Brenda. I appreciate it. I am touched by the generosity of my publishing friends which made this resource bundle possible, to bless all of us.
I have been in your shoes so closely and so recently – pay cuts, hour cuts, more pay cuts – only we were expecting our 4th child when we lost our home. We lived in a very tiny house for a year, deeply thankful the Lord provided a place for us. This summer, He made clear that we needed to move once more – and with trembling and trepidation (our 10 yr old struggles very hard with transitions making it harder on all of us), we followed – into a home that has blessed us beyond words. We’re still unpacking, but every day I thank Him for where He placed us – Godly neighbors and space to use as our own. Even during the year of tight spaces and roiling emotions – we waited on Him and thanked Him (and yes, we also fell apart – we’re very human!).
Today, it’s still not cushy (we used cashed-in vacation time to foot the cost of the move in August), and we are set back constantly with car repairs that must wait, tires that get blown, dr’s visits and prescription co-pays that are untimely – and we have very high allergy food expenses…in short, we still have moments and days when we feel we’re treading water out in the deep of the ocean. But still He knows the number of hairs on our head and meets our deepest needs. Faithfully.
Thank you for sharing so openly – I know that isn’t easy, that it’s humbling and tiring. But you are not alone – and I find that encouraging from where I sit.
I believe the Lord has a place for you – just the right place. And if it’s not ready for you yet, then He will still find a place for you in the interim while He readies it for you. I will be praying for your family – how much I have felt the prayers of others for us this past year, so how gladly I will lift you to the Throne of Grace!
Thank you Cjoy. I’ll be praying for you too. It seems there’s so many families touched by these kinds of things…
I wish that I could take advantage of this sale, but we will not be paid till after the sale is over. I did want to send some encouragement. We lost our house this year also, well they are still trying to figure out what they are doing. We had been laid off from a union job for almost three years, but God has been wonderful through it all, we found a rental, that we were able to clean and do some repairs for the deposit. We ended up in a better neighborhood, even though it was less than four miles from the old house. Amazingly enough, my husband got called back to his old job, he now has a commute of less than three miles round trip. Also work prospects improved for my grown boys that live with us. I just wanted to give you some encouragement.
That is so encouraging Faithann, the way all of that worked out!
Wow what an amazing and overwhelming time for your family. We will definitely be purchasing this bundle at the end of the week when we are able. God found us a house a few days before we were evicted as well…….a BETTER house than we could have ever hoped for (when at the time we had absolutely no income.!). He keeps reminding us we are not in control, doesn’t he? As long as we remain in the center of His will, we’re where we are supposed to be! We are praying for your beautiful family!!
Wow, Melanie, that’s an encouragement to hear. Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement! I appreciate it!
Are you looking around the Detroit area for rentals or foreclosures to get your husband closer to work? God may be moving you far from where you’re used to living. Just a thought.
We’re still praying about where. The problem is, in the Detroit area, the housing is very very expensive, or in a dangerous area — though we are still looking, praying, etc. He really doesn’t want to leave this area, even with the commute he has, but he’s open to God’s leading….We have even broadened our search to anywhere in the world to be honest.
. I’d rather stay in this area if I had my choice since my kids have good godly friends, and we have a great church…but anywhere with God is good for me, amen?
With that attitude, you will be fine. Being open to His leading and listening for it and then obeying it is what this life is all about. And what He wants from us.
I’m excited to hear what God is going to do for your family. It’s going to be good!
Amen, Penney! I just keep asking God to make His will crystal clear to both of us…which I’m sure He’ll do.
I’ve had to move a lot in my lifetime and several times, I haven’t wanted to move because of my children’s friends and the church I was going to that I loved so much. I totally understand how you feel however, with today’s technology, your children should be able to stay in touch with their really great friends and who knows, some really great new friends may be out there where Heavenly Father wants you to move. Maybe, that’s why you are having such a hard time with the issue of moving from where you are now is that you are not really putting this in his hands…There are some fantastic church families out there and maybe, to move is not to leave a fantastic church behind but, to grow with the new church you will be joining? Somewhere, I heard a saying about doors closing and windows opening? I’m thinking you should let go of all your concerns right now and let God deal with them in his time and place. Who knows, maybe this is as it should be and it’s time for a new beginning somewhere else that will open new opportunities to you, your children, and your family. After all, a new beginning is always an opening to new learning experiences! God Bless and I’ll be keeping your family in my prayers.
P.S. I passed your site on to a couple of my groups! And I’ll be trying to work your package into my tight budget.
Hi Kimberly,
I’m so glad that people are banding together to help you. We went through the same thing 6 years ago. We have been renting ever since. The Lord obviously wanted to leave Ohio and see some more of the US. We have lived in Kansas City, Illinois (rented 2 different houses) and now PA. We will probably be moving soon. The rent has been high at times and “low” at others. We have 10 kids, so a few places have tried to keep us out. The one we’re in now said we had too many people at first, but my husband called the housing commission and found out that it went by square feet of living area, not number of bedrooms. And the fact that we were a single family, husband wife and children, not separate people living together. He called the Property Management group back with that information, besides telling them that the housing commission was waiting to hear what happened.
They let us rent the house we were asking about! The rent here is higher than we want to pay, but my husband has the best-paying job we have ever had. God will sustain you. We were shocked when He let us lose our house. But it has been an incredible blessing to see what He has done in our children’s lives, and we see why He moved us out of Ohio. Many of the people we knew there are not even living a Christian life anymore. Our children are on fire! They know God is real and He takes care of His children. We were spared some really bad experiences even though the things we went through seemed like the worst possible things a family could experience.
I’m praying for you. Stay encouraged. Read these testimonies over and over again and stay in His Word! Psalms and Isaiah ministered to me especially during our Journey of Fire.
Love,
Penney
Thanks, Penney. That was an encouraging testimony. I didn’t know it was based on square feet….good to know!
Hello Kimberly, I ordered this special earlier today. My paypal account has my old, old email (I don’t usually use paypal). Could you please send the downloadable stuff to my current email. Thanks so much! I pray your situation improves. I have a feeling God will provide!
Hi Rhonda, I emailed you.
God is never late, He is always on time. ( I know because He found us a home within 2 days of leaving before we were formally evicted from our other one. We did not know where we were going, kind of like Abraham, but He faithfully provided a wonderful but small home in a resort area on a private lake! for less than we were paying in rent for the other one. It was a fantastic place for our girls to grow up and be homeschooled. It hurt for God to have to move us, but, ultimately, He had a better plan.) Be encouraged, He goes with you, and He knows the plans He has in mind for you, to prosper and experience Him in His power, love, and faithfulness. Count it all joy while you wait, because He is up to something good! God Bless you, Teri
Wow, Teri. That’s amazing. I’m so encouraged hearing all of these testimonies from you ladies, as that is encouraging to me. Many around me keep asking, “Where are you going to go?” and it makes me fall back into panic mode when I have to say, “I honestly have no clue!” I am excited at how God will work through all of this. Thank you!
I’ve been there, I know what it is like and we are praying for you! Thanks for such a great deal! I pray the Lord blesses you through this blessing to others!
Thank you, Sherri. I appreciate it. Enjoy the audios and ebooks, and thank you for the prayers.
Hi Kimberly! Love your website–it’s beautiful. I didn’t buy this resource but I purchased your grocery price guidebook. I know it’s not much–I hope it helps. We will pray for your family today. God bless you!!
Thank you so much Leah! I appreciate the prayers most of all. Thank you for stopping by!
Hi Kimberly, I don’t know how to add a trackback (or whatever it’s called) but I posted your sale on my blog, http://frommeandmyhouse.com/blog-led/2011/10/10/100-worth-of-resources-for-under-20/, and FB feed. Praying all goes very well for you. May you be blessed abundantly!
Thank you so much, Lisa! I appreciate your help, and your prayers!
Praying for your family! I spread the word via my blog post today.
Gina
Thank you Gina! I appreciate the prayers and spreading the word!
Kimberly,
My family and I live in West Michigan, outside of Grand Rapids. I’m not sure where you live but I am thinking it is somewhere in MI. I’m sure my church could work something out for housing you temporarily- like a couple of weeks. (Staying with church members.) I wish I could offer more.
Thank you, Cynthia. We’re on the east side, near Flint and Lapeer…but he’s working in Detroit now.
This is the first time I have ever been to your sight and I am so very sorry to hear about your situation. Do you happen to live in Ohio?
Hi Jennifer, no, I live in Michigan, but my dh has lived and worked in Ohio (cleveland area) a few years ago after he lost his other job. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for your prayers.
You are welcome. You have been and will be in my prayers.
Kimberly,
I just wanted to tell you that the Lord will bless you, sustain you, and watch over your precious family. My family went through a very similar situation in 1984 when I was 12 years old. Our home was foreclosed on after my dad lost his business after being sick in the hospital for some time. My family had no where to go. The Lord helped my parents find a home for our family eight, 3 days before we had to move. The night that we left our beloved home for the last time, my mom went into labor and had her 7th child and last child. We almost lost both of them that night but we were so loved and protected by the Lord that it was amazing to watch. 6 months later the Lord helped us find a better and bigger home for our family to rent and we stayed there for 6 more years. It was hard, but at the same time great blessings and experiences came to us that I am so grateful for. I know that this experience was much harder on my parents then it was on us children. But 27 years later my family is still doing great and we are very close knit. We are always there for each other in rain or shine and each of us have a close relationship with the Lord. Stay close to the Lord as a family and thank him for every blessing as I am sure that you are doing and you will see how truly beloved of the Lord you and your dear ones are.
My thoughts and prayers are with you,and all of you who are in the refiners fire at this time.
Fei, thank you so much for sharing that. It was such an encouragement to hear, though I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. I can’t imagine going through all of this while pregnant too! Your mom is a tough woman!! Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it.
We have been there. It isn’t easy to go through, but we have drawn closer together as a family since then. Thank you for your openness. That is hard to do. I wish I would have been more open when we were going through it….I know there were many than would have stood by us. Now, over three years since losing our home, my husband has just lost his job and we stand in another land of uncertainty. Because of the Lord’s faithful care throughout the trials of life, we know He will bring us through this as well. Take care and hold on to each other. It will get better again.
Thank you, Tammy. I’m so sorry you had to go through that too. It’s certainly a trial…I appreciate the encouragement. Since starting to be open about this, I’ve found so many people who have been there too, which is sad, but also an encouragement as they’re on the “other side of it” now. We’re just seeking God to see what He wants in the next step.
I understand what you are going through. We are also fighting this same battle. I plan on making this purchase and can you please keep us updated on your situation.
Blessings to abundance and overflowing.
Thank you, Laura. I’m so sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. It makes me sad to see all of the empty houses and businesses all around us, because behind those are people who are hurting. Thanks for your help and encouragement!
You have the wrong link for the KnowledgeQuest products – the correct website is http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com.
Thanks, Kathy! I’m changing that!
I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. We went through this also 2 years ago. I think what you’re doing is great! I will pray for you and your troop and I’m sure that God will work through someone to make this all happen for you. What city do you live in now? I live in Madison Heights. Does your husband work far from where I live? I was thinking to myself, depending on his job skills that maybe he could put his application in where my husband did. He was laid off for 18 months and though it may be a temp job, he’s been there for 8-9 months now. As long as you’re a good worker they will always place you in right away. I keep praying that since he’s been at the same place all these months that they will keep him there. Let me know and write me at my email address. I’m just thinking of ways I can help you out.
God Bless.
